Education Classes
Childbirth can feel like a great leap into the unknown, especially if you’re about to be a first-time parent. We believe that sharing our knowledge can help you overcome any fears and concerns you may have. Our comprehensive Family Learning Center offers a wide variety of classes taught by certified educators for new and expectant parents, siblings and grandparents. We encourage family involvement – during your pregnancy and following the birth of your baby.

Breastfeeding Support & Lactation Boutique
We believe that breastfeeding should be a positive and natural experience. To help make that possible for you, our nursing staff have all been trained to assist you with your breastfeeding experience. We offer group classes and follow-up on the latest breastfeeding tips and techniques as well as consultation services before and after delivery for difficult or multiple births.

Our on-site Lactation Boutique offers a complete line of breast feeding supplies, including breast pumps and nursing bras. Our lactation nurses are available, even after you leave the hospital, to inform you about and assist you in breast feeding and pumping.

Strong Mommy Program
Healthy moms deliver healthier babies. Our Wellness Centers offer special exercise programs to help ensure that moms are as strong as possible before and after their baby arrives. Call 615-284-2948 for more information.

Massage Services
Each of our new moms receives a little extra special pampering with a free postpartum massage. Family or friends may purchase gift certificates for more time by calling 615-284-PINK (7465).

Postpartum Depression
Postpartum depression affects 20-30% of all new moms. It is a real illness and is very treatable. Through a unique partnership with the Hope Clinic for Women, we provide education and counseling for postpartum depression. Call 615-321-0005 for help or more information.

Parent Email Program
Our obstetric patients at Baptist Hospital and Middle Tennessee Medical Center have a trusted resource to guide them through pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the first year of their baby’s life: our parent email program. This free weekly service for expectant and new parents includes customized information, news and resources—as well as announcements from our parent education staff, access to hospital classes and tour information—all delivered to your in-box. When you register you’ll receive information that’s tailored to your personal week of pregnancy and then the age of your newborn. Plus, it’s all free!
