Nashville Orthopedic Surgeon Among First to Receive Certification in Sports Medicine
The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) recently awarded Dr. Michael J. Pagnani, founder of the Nashville Knee and Shoulder Center, a certification in sports medicine. This is the first time the ABOS has formally recognized orthopedic surgeons as having special qualifications in this subspecialty. Out of the more than 20,000 orthopedic surgeons throughout the country, less than three percent have earned this certification.
