DAVID YANDELL, M.D. JOINS SAINT THOMAS HOSPITAL AND CARDIOVASCULAR SURGERY ASSOCIATES

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - (Jan. 5, 2010) - Cardiothoracic surgeon David Yandell, M.D., has joined the staff of Saint Thomas Hospital and Cardiovascular Surgery Associates.

Cardiovascular Surgery Associates, located on the Saint Thomas campus, provides cardiothoracic surgery services at Saint Thomas Hospital.

"Dr. Yandell is a well-qualified cardiac surgeon who will be an excellent addition to Saint Thomas Hospital's cardiothoracic services. Dr. Yandell's expertise in innovative techniques in aortic surgery will enhance the patient-centered care experience we provide every day at Saint Thomas," said Les Donahue, President and CEO, Saint Thomas Hospital.

Prior to coming to Saint Thomas Hospital, Dr. Yandell practiced cardiovascular surgery at Asante Health System in Medford, Oregon.

Dr. Yandell received his M.D. from the University of Kansas and completed a general surgery residency at the University of Louisville and a thoracic residency at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. He also finished a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Kansas and an endovascular fellowship at Stanford University.

Dr. Yandell is board certified by both the American College of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
