It is estimated that 400,000 people in the U.S. are living with Multiple Sclerosis. At the Saint Thomas Neurosciences Institute for MS we are making a positive difference each day in the lives of individuals and their loved ones living with multiple sclerosis. Utilizing a full range of therapies, treatments and support services, our team of neurologists, radiologists and therapists provide the care necessary to live life with the highest level of independence and the best health possible. Our multidisciplinary team has access to the most advanced diagnostic and treatment therapies available and are dedicated to providing an integrated approach to compassionate, individualized care. While we don't yet have a cure for MS, we do have treatments, therapies and strategies available that can slow the course of the disease, treat the exacerbations or flare-ups, manage the many of the symptoms, and improve functionality and quality of life.

Some of the available treatment options include:

• Medications to Treat MS:
  • Beta Interferons
  • Glatiramer
• Medications That Treat MS Symptoms:
  • Corticosteroids
  • Muscle Relaxants
  • Medications to Reduce Fatigue
  • Medications for associated symptoms such as pain, bladder or bowel control and depression.
• Rehabilitation programs include:

  • Therapy for Speech and Swallowing Problems
