Saint Thomas Health is proud to offer the Jobs in Healthcare/Nurse Assistant program to those who are eager to step into the career of serving others in healthcare.
This program provides participants with the necessary training to prepare them to attain the proper skills to care for patients under the direction of a licensed nurse. This education and training is done in a hospital classroom and clinical setting while offering hands on assistance using mentorship, patient-focused care and case management modalities.
The Jobs in Healthcare/Nurse Assistant Program at Saint Thomas Health prepares individuals to apply learned skills in patient care and in addition, the opportunity to sit for the State of Tennessee Certified Nurse Aide Examination. By taking and passing this exam the candidates increase their ability to apply, interview and seek employment at many different types of facilities. Some of these patient care institutions are: hospitals, mental health and rehabilitation centers, skilled and long term care entities, assisted living, hospice, home care and staffing agencies. The facilities mentioned are a few of the many opportunities in healthcare that will become employment options after course completion.
While Saint Thomas Health offers the training course, being in the program does not guarantee employment at Saint Thomas Health Systems. One can, however, apply for any job opening that exists for the individual’s skill level and training.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a High School
Diploma or GED.
